There is a new securitization plan that may be voted on at any time and the Democrats
will caucus the plan today, May 4th at 10:30 AM. While
we do not have the details of the plan we have been informed that it will include
a plan to securitize as much as 50% of the CEEF. This is unacceptable
and calls and emails must be made to your legislators ASAP!!!! You
must make calls and send emails ASAP!!! You must have your employees
and family members make calls and send emails!! If the calls and emails are
not made this morning than it will be to late!!! We
are fighting for our lives and time is critical, your voices must be heard. Calls
should be made to your legislators where your business is located, where you
live and to House Speaker Chris Donovan, House Majority Leader Denise Merill,
Senate President Don Williams, and Senate Majority Leader Martin Looney. Let
them know that raiding these funds will cost Connecticut jobs!!! Now
is the time that you must get involved your calls and emails are critical. After
you've made those contacts, keep going. Ideally, EVERY legislator's in
box will be flooded by 10 am tomorrow. Please make as many calls
and send as many emails as you possibly can. We need to overwhelm them
when they arrive at the LOB and before they go into caucus.

The Connecticut Chapter of the Northeast Energy Efficiency Council
began forming in the autumn of 2002 and became a full-fledged entity
for 2003. The Chapter was organized by both then-current NEEC members
and like-minded organizations to promote energy efficiency in CT.
Participants felt they should make better use of their collective
voice.
During this same time period, the state’s budget faced
hardships. As budget shortfalls escalated, the Legislature pursued
all means,
including confiscating utility system benefit funds, to balance
the budget. In response, NEEC CT led an effort to educate legislators
and the public to the worthiness of efficiency programs. The Chapter
was successful in convincing policy makers that the continued funding
of these programs was necessary for the citizens of Connecticut.
Through
these initial efforts, the Chapter has become a respected participant
regarding CT energy policy and planning. NEEC CT holds
this position through the labor of its members. The work is not
complete and, as such, we ask for your support. Additional information
regarding the Connecticut Chapter can be found below.
