ENERGY FEDERATION, INC. (EFI)
Energy Federation, Inc. (EFI) has been promoting the sales and use of high quality, innovative energy saving products for twenty-five years. During that period we have worked directly with thousands of contractors, builders, energy savings companies, low-income weatherization agencies, and consumers to help them make buildings more energy efficient. We have been also worked with over forty utility companies and Energy Efficiency Providers (EEP), or administrators of public benefit conservation funds, to deliver a wide variety of turnkey programs promoting the sales and use of energy saving products ranging from water saving showerheads to solar photovoltaic systems.

EFI has sold more than 8 million compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) and more than 1.2 million hardwire and plug-in compact fluorescent fixtures. We have also sold 75,000 programmable, setback thermostats, and over one million water saving showerheads, faucet aerators, and hot water tank insulation jackets. We are the one of the largest supplier in the country of heat recovery and exhaust ventilation systems, products used extensively by the most energy efficient builders in America.

Our operational philosophy is to find, promote, and supply resource conservation products that are of high quality, durable, practical to install and use, and affordable. This philosophy derives from our origins; we were founded by non-profit energy organizations in 1982 to perform research, evaluate products, and coordinate materials purchasing and distribution to the organizations. Our allegiance is to our customers, and to the achievement of cost-effective, persistent energy savings.

EFI does not simply process and fulfill orders. We process incentives for more than thirty dozen clients, for a wide variety of energy efficient products ranging from CFLs to clothes washers to central air conditioning systems. In the past fifteen years, EFI has issued incentive payments for over $175 million, to consumers, retailers, manufacturers, and contractors. These incentives have been used to markdown the cost of more than 24 million energy saving products.

EFI’s unique database software is able to integrate data collected from various sources (consumer supplied forms, catalog orders, store sales data) and tie it to individual customer accounts. This limits the potential for fraud, and misuse of program funds, and assists our clients in documenting to program impacts, and achieved savings, to regulators.
